Saddest Words Ever
Overheard in a hotel lobby:
Obama makes sense, until you hear Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity explain what he really means. That's it. We're doomed.

Oh. Dear.
We're screwed.
If I hear one more conservative radio host using the word "Marxist " to describe Obama, I swear I'm packing it in.
These folks are doing more to keep Americans dumb than anyone.
Because they are honest people, who can be trusted?
We have the followers of Limbaugh on one side and the followers of Michael Moore on the other side. Neither side seems to realize that these guys are just entertainers.
They do not deal in truth. They deal in excitement and emotion and extremism.
I think it would be nice if Obama actually understood what he was saying.
Half the time, he contradicts himself, depending on where he's giving the speech and who his audience is comprised of.
Crankylitprof, that's my definition of a politician. How come it's not okay for this president to behave like all the others?
Because during his endless (and ongoing campaign)he promised more transparency and less doublespeak?
Then again, I'm more firmly coming to believe that political aspirations should be grounds for a full psych eval and possible incarceration, based on criminal tendencies.
Wait a minute...Obama implored us not to jump to conclusions on the Fort Hood shooting. This is the same man who said the Cambridge police "acted stupidly."
He seemed to have no problem jumping to conclusions then. Sorry, this is more doublespeak than I can stomach.
I'm of the mind that all politicians couldn't give a rip about Americans, and that they're in it for their own legacy.
Did you see the Jon Stewart impression of erm, Glenn Beck (I think) all around the intertubes the other day?
People are going to take out your appendix and eat it in front of your children!!!!!

Great post! I really, really like your blog!

ps. Link Exchange?
I just watched "The American President" again this weekend, with delight.
"People don’t drink the sand because they’re thirsty; they drink the sand because they don’t know the difference."
regarding the Cambridge SNAFU, I thought it was particularly telling that he prefaced the comment about "acting stupidly" by saying, "I do not have all of the facts"
Perhaps the police office that put an end to the shooting should have suggested that "let's have a beer and chat about things"
