Do You Really Want to Know?
Ok, Poll question:
Yes, there is a story behind the dog and the chair. Yes, I've written about it (and was plenty pissed when it was rejected by Medical Economics. They've published pieces like What I Learned When my Father got Sick and What I Learned When my Kid got Sick, but didn't feel that What I Learned When my Dog got Sick was "appropriate" for them.) However it's longer than a typical post (and besides, I'd have to re-write some of it to make it suitable for the blog) though maybe I could divide it up and post it in chapters.
So what say the masses:
To blog or not to blog the story of the Rolling Peke?

Blog it! I think it sounds like a great story.
Yes! I want to know more about the Rolling Peke! And a picture or two would be smashing.
Oops. Didn't see the picture in the previous post. *blushing in embarrassment*
Yes please. I wanted to ask in the comments on the previous post but was too polite! Besides you know you're going to anyway.
jmb
So how many yes votes will it take to get you to post this?
You're teasing us now - you have to tell us the story!
Seriously, how many yes votes do you need? I might vote in anonymously a few times if need be.
blog! You can always break it into pieces if it seems too long for one post.
Definitely Blog!! It sounds like an interesting story to say the least
How DID the Peke become a gimp?
Actually, what I'm really curious about is if anyone's honest enough to say, "Nah; don't bother. I don't really care."
"Actually, what I'm really curious about is if anyone's honest enough to say, "Nah; don't bother. I don't really care.""
No, those folks won't say anything. And the rest of us would like to hear the story . . . After all, those who don't care don't have to read it, do they? ;o)
If it's really long, spreading it over a few posts is probably a good idea.
It could just be a short statement of something like a) he popped a disc and became paralyzed; b) he was hit by a car; c) has a spinal tumor; d) just severe osteoarthritis; or e) degenerative nerve disease.
Or, none of the above...
Nah; don't bother.
But only because I already know the story!!
Go ahead and post it. It's a great story and I'll read it again. And this time I'll have my hankie ready.
Actually, what I'm really curious about is if anyone's honest enough to say, "Nah; don't bother. I don't really care."
Well, I wasn't going to say anything, but when you taunt me like that, I feel compeled to 'fess up; I don't really want to read about what happened to your dog. (I get enough dog stories from my co-workers).
I *am* interested in what you learned, and will read through the horrible part (where the poor puppy is hit by a car, attacked by a pack of rabbid squirles or left for dead in a back alley) because I already know there is a happy ending. (I'm a sucker for happy endings!)
I'm with Medblog Addict. Read it. Loved it. It's an adorable story, and like MBA, I'll grab my Kleenex for the second round.
Definitely tell the story!!
But -- and this is going to get me boo'ed here -- Medical Economics isn't the only publication, ya know. Rolling Peke's story (and, more so, yours) has such universal appeal that you ought to submit it till it's pubbed. Bark Magazine (The New Yorker of pet mags)? JAMA's A Piece of My Mind? Or so many others.
And then reprint or link to it here.
Detail: Yeah, that's what I *should* do, but if I do, there goes my anonymity. Besides, it was written (style-wise) specifically for ME. So maybe I'll just re-write it for here.
Yes, please re-write it. I enjoy your style and sense of humor and would love to read a longer piece by you!
