Why You Really Can't Please Everyone
Verbatim phone call received in my office this morning:
Dr. D: Good morning, Dr. Dinosaur's office.Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot; over?
Caller: Oh, I wanted to talk to a machine. [click]

That usually means whatever excuse they are leaving to cancel the appt. isn't valid. It's far easier to lie to a machine, and in their simple minds not a lie since it's not human. (Hugs)Indigo
I need to call my doc right now. I'm dreading it. Been putting it off for 3 days. If I could leave the message on a machine, I'd have done it on Monday.
If it was 2 of my docs that have machines, I'd be sitting pretty. But, alas, they have people answering the phone.
Which means, the nurse will ask questions that, quite frankly I don't want to answer and feel are between me and the doc. If I say so, she'll get snipey. (past experience has told me this ..she'll also say that if she doesn't have enough information, she won't *bother* giving the doc the message)
So, I have 2 choices ..either make an unnecessary appointment so the private issue stays private ...or make that call and have my privacy invaded.
The nurse before this one would respect "really, it's personal and it pertains to an existing diagnosis" (with slightly more detail, but it's personal and not going into it on here!)
Unbelievable. LOL
This made me smile :)
