Etiology
I've learned something new today, courtesy of the NinjaBaker, who has just discovered the following:
Mad cow disease is caused by E. coli zombies.Edited to add:
Explanation, per NB:
It was a thought process about E.coli zombies.I love the logic of scientific offspring.
Cows get it by being fed their own entrails and feces, which contain E.coli. Prions are mutated proteins which ... could theoretically be from dead E.coli. They attack other proteins, convert them into their own, zombious form and eat BRRRRAAAAAIIIIIIINNNSSS.

It was a thought process about E.coli zombies (I swear, it sort of makes sense). Cows get it by being fed their own entrails and feces, which contains E.coli. Prions are mutated proteins (which I know aren't really, but could theoretically be from dead E.coli). They attack other proteins, convert them into their own, zombious form and eat BRRRRAAAAAIIIIIIINNNSSS
Good god. I'll never eat another steak again. Now, where is the Pepto Bismol?
Not so fast, Lynn.
NinjaBaker: If you treat the cow with micronized shotgun pellets as part of the slaughter/processing, would that destroy the E. coli zombies, thus rendering the meat safe for human consumption?
interesting how many of our fictitious monsters have scientific parallels, although this one is a stretch. i've given up beef because of the terrible CAFO process that brings their muscle into our supermarkets and mcdonald's. need to do that with chicken soon, too. i will eat free range stuff, and love grass fed bison. less e. coli zombies!
Sorry, Dino, I'm still sitting on my gag reflexes here.
This was just a really stupid post. Obviously the original idea came from a very immature person. Spend your blog time on something more worthwhile.
Everything is better with Zombies!
